Ravdoucha

30 kilometers west of Chania is the picturesque settlement of Ravdoucha, located on the edge of a steep slope, with just 133 inhabitants.

The village is accessed through a winding road ascending for about 2 kilometers.

The scenery is gorgeous as high mountains around, wild rocks and large olive groves make up the view you see from the village that overlooks Kissamos Bay.

The village, due to its elevated position enjoys breathtaking views stretching all the way to the sea.

Ravdoucha is a Greek idiom for "whipped'' that tells the story of strong winds which constantly blow here.

Past the village one slowly descends to eventually reach the sea.

On the way to the beach you'll meet the cavernous chapels of St Marina and St Onoufrios that are worth taking photos from.

On the beach there are a few fish tavernas and basic touristic facilities. There are no umbrellas, but you can find shade under the trees.
