Pemonia is a small traditional village built in the foothills of the White Mountains in a pretty valley with vineyards and olive trees. It is a 10-minute drive from the larger village of Vrisses, Apokoronas. The small but picturesque mountain village remains unspoilt, far away from any form of tourism.
This tastefully-renovated house dates from 1836 and is located in the middle of the village. The thick stone walls will keep the house cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The owner paid a lot of attention to the restoration with wooden beamed ceilings, traditional tiling, stone arches and the grey/blue shutters give this property an attractive, traditional appearance.
Stone stairs lead up to the main entrance, which opens into a spacious living room with a corner fireplace. A stone arch leads to the spacious kitchen/ dining room. On this floor there is also a bathroom with a shower.
The top floor consists of two bedrooms with wooden floors and wooden vaulted ceilings and French doors opening onto a private balcony. The bathroom on this floor is equipped with a corner bath and high-quality accessories.
The outside of the property is on different levels. A huge tree at the front provides shade on hot days. The plot is fenced, gated and walled, and overlooks the red-tiled rooftops of the village, the countryside and the beautiful White Mountains.
The sandy beaches and seaside tavernas of Almerida, Georgioupolis and Kalives are 9km away. The village is 26km away from the town of Chania.
