Darmarohori

Darmarohori village is ideal if you want to explore western Crete and its famous sandy beaches like Falassarna, Ballos, Elafonissi.

Kolimbari town, 3km from the village, is located on the main coastal road and has almost everything that you may need like pharmacy shop, banks, super markets, restaurants. Kolimbari (sometimes spelled Kolymbari or Kolympari) is the administrative and commercial centre of the area. The City of Chania can be reached within 15 - 20 minutes from the Kolimbari junction of the national road.

Just 2.5 km from Kolimpari Beach, Darmarohori lies 23 km east of Chania, 28 km from Souda Port, and 35 km from the international airport of Chania. The area is ideal for trekking, riding and cycling. One can visit the historic Saint Michael's church, built in the 14th century, 2 km away.

The area is surrounded by open green hillsides, full of olive groves and vineyards as far as the eye can see, till the magnificent White Mountains to the south and wonderful unblocked sea view the north.

Darmarohori is only a few minutes by car from the seemingly endless beach of Kolimbari and the small hidden coves of "Spatha" peninsular.

Recently a mini market opened in Darmarohori for every day shopping.

A few minutes up the road is the village of Vouves and its famous old olive tree - during summer time a cafeteria/tavern is open next to the square with the olive tree.
