Neriana

Neriana is a Village near Voukolies in Chania in the north east region of Crete. It is also a Municipal district.

Neriana is at an altitude of 90 meters. In 1991, Neriana's population was 109, down from 138 in 1981. The tranquil village has earned its name from numerous small streams feeding into the valley resulting in rich vegetation and quality orchards.

The village is located between Tavronitis and Voukolies. The beach is a mere 10-minute drive and there is a well-known local taverna called Frosini's Garden. Frosini's Garden is a taverna with character .It is situated in a large garden - where much of the produce used is grown. It is attractively rustic and traditional.

Children love to be able to play in the garden and see the donkey, horse, hens and rabbits. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the family who owns it is welcoming, enjoys cooking and presents their guests with delicious traditional Cretan dishes.

The perfect place to sit outside, under the orange trees, and take your time to enjoy the mouth watering home-cooked food and sample the local wines.

The taverna is very rustic. No plastic sanitized surroundings here - and no pretentious food.

The village of Tavronitis with its amenities and the junction to the national road is a 10-minute drive. Chania is a 30-minute drive away and the airport 45 minutes.
