Xirokambi

Xirokambi is small , peaceful, sleepy Cretan village located a couple of km inland from the North West coast of Crete, west of Chania.

It is located on a hillside surrounded by olive groves, at an altitude of 160m, offering stunning views to the mountains, the sea and absolutely breathtaking sunsets. About 41 people live in the village.

There is only one tavern in the village, which is not always open. Ideally one should call the owners and order food from before.

The nearest beach is a 5 minute drive to Maleme, which has a pebble beach. In Maleme one can find amenities including supermarket, pharmacy, gas station, local transport links, taverns and cafes.

The famous beach resort of Platanias is a 10-minute drive and offers numerous beach activities and a livelier more cosmopolitan atmosphere. Platanias has sandy beaches where you can hire sun beds and do all sorts of water sports.

Chania town is just a 20-minute drive and the airport is 40 minutes away.

There is easy access to the National Road which is only an 8 minute drive from Xirokambi. It is a perfect base to explore western Crete, its beaches, archeological finds and stunning nature. Away from the crowds of Platanias, it is the perfect place to relax.
